“As a professional photographer, I photograph a lot of large events with large numbers of people.
A viewing station is setup at each event to allow customers to view and purchase their images on site.
Previously, long lines were caused by groups of people, spending valuable time, scrolling through images in search of their pictures or waiting for their pictures to be uploaded from a memory card, while more potential customers waited in line for their turn. At times the line got so long that additional sales were lost by people not wanting to spend excessive time waiting in line and walking away.
Using Wi-Pics Mobile, I scan a pre-printed barcode, take the pictures, then hand the barcode to the person I just photographed. The renamed pictures are transmitted automatically to the viewing station computer (no more running memory cards). When the customer arrives at the viewing station, their barcode is scanned and only their images are displayed. The customer chooses a photo or photos, selects a package and the order is sent to the printer. We’re ready for the next person in line. No longer are customers taking up time viewing every photo in the catalog, no more trying to locate a single photo among hundreds of images.
